I predict...

For a while now I've said to anyone who will listen that I'm not counting for any minutes out of John O'Brien in Germany. Now, emboldened by my soothsayer ability, I predict he won't even go to Germany. Even more, I predict he won't play for Chivas USA until August. In fact, he may never play another game for Chivas USA.

JOB was a supremely talented player. But he has had an incredible amount of trouble getting on the field this spring. I'm not talking about his injury troubles last year or the year before, I'm talking about now. And I don't see that changing. And even if it did, and here's the important point, he's not the same player he was three years ago. Or two years ago. There's no way he can get to the level of consistency and fitness he displayed in his prime over the next thirty (and counting) days.

Bruce will give him is walking papers very soon. And don't expect him to rush back to the Chivas lineup either. The most maddening thing is that we really aren't sure what JOB is rehabbing from...a calf, a knee, a groin? It seems like he's had all those injuries and more. There are just too many factors working against JOB to expect production out of him in Germany. Bruce will see that first-hand this week but any statistician will tell you that the numbers are working against JOB. (Bostrom)
